Exhibit Five

Women Employed final graphic.jpg
This graphic was inspired by an organization I support called Women Employed. It helps women who are seeking jobs and also fights for gender equality in the workplace. I wanted to go for simplicity, but also create powerful text. Tools used in this graphic include: free transform tool, skew tool, rectangle tool, text tool, style tool and a blend mode for the logo. In this design, I implemented a type style I created and saved in Photoshop with the womenemployed.org - the style I created used the bevel and emboss, drop shadow, color overlay and outer glow effects with a black color.

I considered alignment by skewing the rectangle at an angle to match the arm in the photo - it created a sharp line and made the image more powerful as a whole; I also aligned the text to the right as the eye naturally follows that direction. With color, I chose to do a black and white image so I could highlight the words and logo, which is yellow, more prominently. Two types of font were implemented to create more contrast and also so the website would be easy to read and remember. I wanted to keep the yellow logo, so after adjusting the size using the free transform tool I used the overlay blending mode.
