This design was inspired by this year's midterm elections where more millennials will vote than ever before - I wanted to cater this graphic to a younger audience while also keeping a classic feel.

 

For this exhibit, tools used where the free transform tool, type tool, move tool, and blending modes. I found a black and white stock photo of college students and using the free transform tool I put the flag as an overlay over the image and lowered the opacity level to 15 percent. I then used two different fonts for the type and added the voter check mark to the side - I used the hard light blending mode to bring it out even more. Obviously, the font colors used were patriotic colors which I deemed appropriate for the subject. Furthermore, I aligned the text so the vote.org was to the right and so that the proximity was closer with the above line to bring the piece together. The fonts and the colors work together to create contrast and also repetition which was my main goal for this photo.
